10 years ago, people began talk about user experience since iPhone was published. But actually no one noticed it could be an importance in services or products. Nowadays, so many companies are hiring UX designer, I can’t stop headhunters calling me and asking if i’m interested in such positions. Those positions mostly are not different with visual designer or product manager but just change a name as UX. I became lose my patients and said consultant is not that simple as you thought. Business clients are unlike customers sometimes.
No matter how I convince them, they can’t understand well because they are internet companies or just IT support departments without any industrial insights. I’m not blaming them, because we are working for different companies with different developing aspects.I can explain what I’m good at, what skills I have, if they are suitable, then we can cooperate, if not, don’t waste our time.
I won’t stop seeking for some opportunities which are UX driven, internal and external. let UX become more popular and useful for business.
Some projects are globally, I had to discuss stuffs with them weekly and report to them with English documents. Talking with people with different culture is interesting. They have different opinions about UX but I found that their requirements are not that urgent as Chinese clients, functions first, unlike Chinese ones have hundreds competitors and market pressure. hahahaha
