In 2000s, a lot of blog services came out, blogger, Microsoft live space, Sina…. They all provided second domain name and we could get them for free. Blog is not only for diary post, but also for personal showing. A lot of writers published their articles, geeks published their DIY pics, guys published their travel, girls published what they ate. Personal diary become public and even played a showing off role.
I felt hard to make a decision, which blog would suit me most. I knew Microsoft one had hundreds of customizations, Sina one may let lots of my friends visit. As a technical major student, I chose Microsoft one, but it was sun set in a short time. Fine, I have to migrate all my contents in a month. Where should I move to?
I asked one of my friend, which blog is the best one. He said, WordPress maybe good, and you can customize everything because it is open source. That means I have to rent a space right? Yes, he answered. That sucks, I hadn’t prepare to spend money for a blog, it didn’t mean so important to me. So I just move all my contents to wordpress.com, not wordpress.org. I still had second class domain name but I had no mood to update it any more.
Since I had to make a personal website recently. I thought about WordPress. If I can operate it, it would be the fastest way to build up a website.
After setting the cloud service, I chose linux and php environment so that I could publish WordPress packet. Just download it from wordpress.org. The installation is really easy, I just input my MySql address and password, chose a theme, that’s how this website looks like!!
